Meet Daisy!

Daisy is a black and white female with a super soft coat!  She is about 7 years old and with cats living only indoors they can have a long life well up into their high teens and sometimes to around 20 years old.  Daisy has a lot of good years ahead of her and would like to spend those years living with a loving patient person.

Daisy was adopted from StreeCats in 2011.  She was returned to us after her owner passed away.   She is accustomed to living with one owner and was the only cat for the past 5 years.  Because of her previous living arrangements we feel that she is having difficulty adjusting to her new living arrangements with so many other cats.  She will most likely be very happy in a quiet home as an only cat.  We don't know about how she would get along with children or dogs in the home.

She is very healthy! She has been tested by a veterinarian and all tests came back negative including the tests for Feline Leukemia/FIV.  She has been chipped.  A tiny little microchip is placed just under the skin with her information including contact information for the owners.  When she is adopted we will register Daisy with the new contact information with the Home Again pet registry.

She is a special kitty in need of a special loving home.

StreetCats is located at 6520 E. 60th St., here in Tulsa, OK.  Come by and visit Daisy,  and our other cats,  any time Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 until 5:00, or call our Message line, at 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have about her, or anything else about StreetCats, and someone will call you back.

Meet Enzo!

Enzo is a male red tabby with a birthday coming with up!  He has been given an estimated birth date of February 20th.   He’ll be 4 yrs. old!
He is a good sized male and an armful to carry.  Here he is stretching out to show us his size or maybe thinking of taking up dancing.  I’m not sure which.  Actually he was playing with a feather toy on a string on a wand.   He is willing to play when the right toy interests him!

Enzo has an engaging personality!  He likes to socialize, is curious about what’s happening in the shop, and is friendly.   He has been around dogs and was okay with them.

He is trained to use a scratching post which is always a plus for an indoor cat.  StreetCats adopts cats who will be kept indoors by the owners.  This keeps them happy, healthy, and safe.

Enzo got off to a rather rough start in life.  He was adopted out of a shelter, but the woman who adopted him moved and left him with a sister.  The sister’s very ill mother-in-law moved in with her and she said that she could no longer keep him.  We are now caring for him and helping to find him a new and loving forever home.

Enzo is very healthy!  He has tested negative on all of the tests and has had all of the vaccinations that he needs to ensure that he is well.  Through the Home Again program he has had a micro-chip placed under his skin.  When he is adopted the new owner’s contact information will be added.  He has also been neutered and has great teeth!

StreetCats is located at 6520 E. 60th St., here in Tulsa, OK.  Come by and visit Enzo  and our other cats any time Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 until 5:00, or call our Message line, at 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have.
How can you resist that face?!

Feline Friday - Marlo

Marlo is a a ticked brown tabby.  Her estimated birthday is July 13, 2012.  Although she might get along with a cat friendly dog, we think that she would  prefer being the only cat in a family,

She likes her privacy and often can be found sleeping in closets or cabinets.  She especially likes cabinets full of nice soft towels and fluffy cat beds, like the ones we have at StreetCats.

Marlo is a very sweet natured cat!  She's a lap cat, but also loves playing with her toys, and getting tummy rubs, as well.

These days she is enjoying what I call her cat cave.  She plays in it, on it...

  ...and behind it!

She still has her claws and is familiar with using them on scratching posts.

She has been seen by a vet and has a clean bill of health!  She tested negative for
Fe/Leuk/Aids, is current on her rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, and has been spayed.  She is also micro-chipped! She is registered, at no charge to the new owner, with Home Again program for pets.  Micro-chipping is one of the best ways to have a pet returned should he or she get lost and found by someone other than yourself.  When she is adopted, the new owner's contact information will be added.

StreetCats is located at 6520 E. 60th St. here in Tulsa, OK.  Come by and visit Marlo and our other cats any time Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 until 5:00, or call our Message line, at 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have, about her or anything else about StreetCats, and someone will call you back.

Feline Friday - Meet Izzy!

Izzy is June’s Kitty of the Month!  Simply put, she is precious!  She is an adorable brown patch tabby with white born approximately May 13, 2013.  If you look closely you’ll see the stripes, which are markings of the tabby, within the yellow and gray patches of fur.  Her markings are beautiful, especially the checkerboard like pattern on the top of her head.

She is described as playful and affectionate.  She loves to cuddle.  At StreetCats she also seems shy.  By her choice she likes to live up and away by staying in an open cage when relaxing.  I call it her suite.  It has 2 rooms with a pass through window.  That way we can keep her food and bed away from the litter box.   She watches the world go ‘round from up there and loves it when someone stops to pet her!

She comes out for strolls on top of the empty cages sometimes.  She is a little camera shy and has asked me to please stay back a little ways when I have my camera with me.

Izzy was rescued by a man who could not keep her.  He had dogs and bringing a cat into the family just wouldn’t work.  Before coming into the shop she was first taken to one of the veterinarians who works with us to care for the kitties.

She was thoroughly checked out and has had all of the tests needed to ensure that she is healthy.  Speaking of tests, she passed them all with flying colors.  She is now up to date on her rabies vaccine, and has also been spayed.   Through the HomeAgain program she had a microchip placed under her skin.  This chip can be “read”, with a special tool, by veterinarians and animal rescue organizations.  This is invaluable when your pet is lost and found by someone other than yourself.  When she is adopted the new owner’s contact information will be added to it.

Oh, one more thing!  She is a little different from other cats.  She has short front legs.  It’s not a problem, simply a difference.

StreetCats is located at 6520 E. 60th St. here in Tulsa, OK.  Come by and visit Izzy, and our other cats, any time Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 am until 5:00 pm.  If you have questions about Izzy, or anything else about StreetCats, you can call our Message line, at 918-298-0104,  and someone will call you back.

Meet Sensi!

Sensi is a beautiful Tortie with a little tortietude mixed in.   Torties seem to have their own particular attitude towards life and other beings.  Her birthday is approximately August of 2014.  She has not been declawed.

Sensi loves laps and attention!  When someone sits in one chair in particular at StreetCats that's her cue to jump up for a cuddle session.  She's also playful, friendly, and curious. I took some boxes to the shop and she was drawn to them immediately! As you can see she seems quite comfortable.  Sensi is a good cat and gets along best with other cats, but not so much with dogs or children.

She was rescued by someone who couldn't keep her. In her home the owner said that she was cuddly, sweet, and  playful.  Although she was very attached to Sensi, she had to give her up when it was discovered that her son was allergic to cats.

Sensi is very healthy!  She has been spade and has had all of the tests, including those for feline leukemia and feline AIDS/FLV, and vaccinations that she needs to ensure that she is well.  She has had a micro-chip placed under her skin and when she is adopted the new owner’s contact information will be added.

StreetCats is located at 6520 E. 60th St., here in Tulsa, OK.  Come by and visit Sensi and our other cats any time Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 until 5:00, or call our Message line, at 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have about her or anything else about StreetCats and someone will call you back.

Meet Rea!

Rea got her name from a character in the most recent Star Wars movie, "The Force Awakens".  Luke Skywalker's daughter, Rea, was the Jedi heroine  I just had to throw that in so that you would know the origin of her name.  The cat that she came in with, from the same family, is named Boba Fete, who was also a Star Wars character in the movie.  Our Rea does not take after her namesake very much; beautiful, yes, forceful, no.

Rea is a gentle sweetheart of a kitty!  She is just a little over a year old and is front declawed.  She is a Torbie!  Torbies are a combination of Torties and Tabbies.  She is just a little over a year old and is front declawed.

She came to StreeCats because a person in her household became allergic to cats.  As I said above, she came in from the home with another cat.  He is a smoky gray short haired kitty with a lot of white on him.  He is also a very nice cat.

Rea is very healthy!  She has had all of the tests, including those for feline leukemia and feline AIDS/FLV, and vaccinations that she needs to ensure that she is well.  She has had a micro-chip placed under her skin and when she is adopted the new owner’s contact information will be added to it.  She has also been spade.

StreetCats' building is located at 6520 E. 60th St., here in Tulsa, OK.  Come by and visit Rea,  and our other cats, any time Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 until 5:00, or call our Message line, at 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have.

Meet Johnny!

In honor of his estimated First Birthday, coming up this Sunday, March 12, 2017, we are featuring Johnny!  As you can see he is a very handsome red tabby!

He is also very cute!  Just look at that adorable face!

He is curious and playful and always ready for a game of any sort.
When he is not playing he’s a pretty laid back kitty.

He’s outgoing, very sweet and he loves to be petted.  When he feels that he hasn’t gotten enough love he reaches out with his paw encouraging the petter to pick up where she left off.

He was adopted earlier this year with his brother.  Although he gets along with the other cats here at StreetCats it didn’t work out in his new home with the 2 cats.  He was returned to us the end of February.  In his next  home he may be happier as the only cat in the house.  He has not lived with dogs, yet, so we can’t predict whether or not he would be okay with dogs.

Johnny is very healthy!  He has had all of the tests that he needs to ensure that he is well, including feline leukemia and feline AIDS/FLV.  He passed with flying colors!  He has also been vaccinated and neutered.  He has had a micro-chip placed under his skin with all of his information.  When he is adopted the new owner’s contact information will be added.

If you are interested in meeting Johnny, feel free to come by StreetCats at 6520 E. 60th St, in Tulsa, 10:30 - 5:00 Tuesday though Saturday, or call our message line, 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have.  We would love to show you around and introduce you to Johnny and I’m sure that he would love to meet you, too!

Feline Friday - Romeo!

Meet Romeo! He is a 9 month old golden brown ticked tabby.  He has 3 white socks and 1 boot.  He hasn't been at StreetCats for very long and I suspect that he will be adopted quickly because he is such a sweetheart!

Romeo is very friendly and playful.  His foster mom said that he loves to play hide and seek, chase anything on a string, and then, when he is all tuckered out, he will sit on your lap to be petted and adored.

He found his foster mom, one of StreetCats' volunteers, this past Halloween. His foster mom said that he came running across a field, crossed a busy street, and then ran right up her driveway to her.  He did this amid many costumed trick-or-treaters and a yard full of Halloween blow up decorations on the lawn!  She said that he was very brave!

The romantic little Romeo, being a little shy and new to StreetCats, has kept to himself.  After he begins to feel more at home we'll see whether or not he will get along well with the other cats.  His foster mom said that he's not sure whether or not he likes dogs.  He may do fine with children, but has been known to give a little warning bite when he is through playing or is being loved on too much.

Romeo is a healthy kitty!  He has been examined by a veterinarian, has been given all of the tests needed for a cat and has received all of the vaccinations that he needs.  He has also been neutered and micro-chipped!  His chip will be registered with Home Again and his new owner's contact information will be added to it.  Micro-chipping is a great way to have your pet returned to you if he/she is ever lost.

If you are interested in meeting Romeo feel free to come by StreetCats at 6520 E. 60th St., in Tulsa, 10:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, or call our message line, 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have.  We would love to show you around and introduce you to Romeo, and I'm sure that he would love to meet you, too!

FELINE FRIDAY - MARY

Say "Hello" to Mary!  Mary is a short hair black and white tuxedo kitty with an estimated  birthday of 12-3-2008.

Mary was rescued as a kitten.  The woman who raised her got married and learned that the household would have a dog that might do her harm, so she brought her to StreetCats.

She is a playful, affectionate and friendly kitty.  She likes to sleep in an out of the way place where she can enjoy some peace and quiet.  That place is in the lower cabinets in the cats'
large room.  She has learned to unlatch the doors and let herself inside for nap time.

She is rather independent, but does like to play and be petted.  She doesn't like my camera, though.  If I stand way back away from her she doesn't run and lets me photograph her.

She is healthy!  She has been to the vet and thoroughly checked out.  She has had all of the tests and vaccinations needed and has been given a clean bill of health!  She has been spayed, and micro-chipped, too.  When the new owner comes along we will update it with the new owner’s contact information.  The chip is invaluable in helping lost pets be returned to their owners.  StreetCats will register her for her first year.

If you are interested in meeting Mary, feel free to come by StreetCats at 6520 E. 60th St, in Tulsa, 10:30 - 5:00 Tuesday though Saturday, or call our message line, 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have.  We would love to show you around and introduce you to Mary and I’m sure that she would love to meet you, too!

Feline Friday - Beamer

I'm happy to introduce Beamer to you today!  Why so happy?  Because Beamer is such a happy cat.

Beamer is about 7 years old, but acts younger than you might think.  He is very playful.  I tried getting a photograph of him playing, but he was much too fast for me and my camera.

Beamer is all over the shop.  He continuously is looking for someone, a toy, or another cat to play with.  He loves everyone!  He is affectionate to say the least and loves loving on people and people loving on him.  The picture below needs a good caption.  Is he wondering why these people aren't petting him?

Beamer was adopted from StreetCats as a kitten in 2009.  Although he was loving and friendly with his owner he was returned to us in October.  He had become aggressive to his owner's elderly cat.  His owner hated giving him up, but felt that it would be better for his older female cat.

Beamer is very healthy!  He has been to the vet and thoroughly checked out.  He has had all of the tests and vaccinations needed and has been given a clean bill of health!  He has been neutered, and microchipped, too.  When the new owner comes along we will update the chip with the new owner’s contact information.  The chip is invaluable in helping lost pets be returned to their owners.  StreetCats will take care of the first year's registration.

If you are interested in meeting Beamer, feel free to come by StreetCats at 6520 E. 60th St, in Tulsa, 10:30 - 5:00 Tuesday though Saturday, or call our message line, 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have.  We would love to show you around and introduce you to Beamer and I’m sure that he would love to meet you, too!

Feline Friday - Thor!

Our Thor most certainly has been named after the great god, Thor, who was associated with thunder and lightening, storms, strength, and the protection of  all of mankind. Doesn't this description conjure up visions of a being that was powerful, and intimidating to all who saw him?  When our Thor was a kitten the person who named him must have had high hopes for him to become a big and strong cat who would never be ruled by another cat, or mere mortals like you and me.

Thor's kitten years are gone and he has grown to be a 5 yr. old teddy bear of a kitty!  He is precious.  He is affectionate and laid back.  He is everybody's friend and can't wait to be petted by his new friends when they come into the shop.

He is described as a blue tabby.  His stripes are faint, but you'll see them when you look closely.  He is beautiful!  He is, however, just a little weight challenged.  His new owner will most likely want to visit with a vet about how to help him trim down to a healthier weight.

He is a very lovable kitty and I believe that he would be a great addition to anyone's family.  We were told that the previous owner had 2 cats, Thor being one of them, that didn't get along with each other even after living together for a year.  The owner decided to let Thor go.  We know what a wonderful cat he is and hope that it won't be very long before he goes home with a new family.

Thor is a healthy kitty he has tested negative for FeLeuk/Aids and is current on rabies and FVRCP vaccinations.  He also has a HomeAgain micro-chip implanted and will be registered, with the new owners' contact information, at no cost.

If you are interested in meeting Thor, feel free to come by StreetCats at 6520 E. 60th St, in Tulsa, 10:30 - 5:00 Tuesday though Saturday, or call our message line, 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have.  We would love to show you around and introduce you to him and I’m sure that he would love to meet you, too!

Feline Friday - Hello Dolly!

Dollie is a very sweet little gray and white tabby with gorgeous green eyes!  She is estimated to be less than 2 years old with a birthday about February 2015.  She’s a little on the petite side for her age and very dainty.

Although still a little shy, she loves playing with our visitors and the volunteers.  When resting she prefers to hang out in a little house that she has claimed for her own.

Dolly came to StreetCats with her sister Polly.  They were rescued in Catoosa and brought to us by a woman who couldn’t keep them.  Polly was adopted recently and we would very much like to help Dolly find her forever home, too.

If you are interested in meeting Dolly, feel free to come by StreetCats at 6520 E. 60th St, in Tulsa, 10:30 - 5:00 Tuesday though Saturday, or call our message line, 918-298-0104, with any questions that you may have.  We would love to show you around and introduce you to Dolly, and I’m sure that she would love to meet you, too!
