Cats are flying off the shelves here at StreetCats!  We are so thrilled about the recent adoptions!  I have photographs of some of the adopted cats that I would like to share with you.  Some of the cats were at StreetCats for such a short time many of you may not have gotten to meet them.  They're not in chronological order.

If you want something done right . . .

Yeah, yeah, yeah!  I know it's March!  Better late than never!  However, in this case, never might work just fine!  I decided that this year we would do that thing the humans do called "resolutions."  It seems they only do that when the yearly calendar changes and so they call it New Year's Resolutions. So late in December, 2015, I told the cats to, ASAP, get me their New Year's Resolutions, for 2016, of course.  Well, did they do it?!  What do you think?  As Mom said, if you want anything done right, you've got to do it yourself!  So here you go, my resolutions for some of the StreetCats cats!  Some of them are so obvious that I don't know why they couldn't do them by themselves!

Smokey told me she gave me hers, but I sure don't remember it!  Anyway Smokey resolves only to sleep on beds that match her collar.  Really?!  Is she auditioning for queen or something?

Now Mary.  Mary, Mary, Mary!  Here she is sitting right beside the food!  Unfortunately this blog doesn't have sound.  If it did you would hear her yowling, yowling for her food!  Then after she's been fed she lies to the humans about that and starts all over again!  Zip it, Mary!  You're clearly not starving!  Wait patiently like I do.  If you just sit patiently near, or on, your tray they'll be there as quickly as they can!  Please note my example!  So . . . Mary resolves not to be quite so demanding!

Adam also resolves not to be so demanding, but this time it's about water.  I really don't think he's thirsty.  He just likes watching the humans do what he wants them to do.  Poor fellow can't turn on the water himself.
I, Brandi, do hereby resolve not to so often hide my light, er, eye makeup, under a bushel (or blanket) so often!  Let it shine, Brandi!  Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, Patch is young!  And curious!  Does he not know that curiosity can kill cats?  Not at StreetCats, of course, but he won't always be at StreetCats!  Okay, it's also not likely to kill him in one of our adoptive homes either, but it's still not going to hurt him to learn to keep his  nose out of others' business!  So Patch resolves to remember the phrase "Curiosity killed the cat."
Okay, you want me to make a resolution, too, right?  I, Truman, resolve to make a concentrated effort to get more sleep!  So night night!

Feline Friday - Lucas!

Meet Lucas!  Simply put, Lucas is a fun cat!  He is a yellow tabby with white and is about 1 1/2 yrs. old.

He is as playful as they come, laid back, and friendly.  I should also add curious!
He loves trying to get into cabinets at the shop and checking out everything that catches his eye.  In the picture below he is coming over to check out my camera.  Maybe he sees his own image reflected in the lens glass.

Speaking of eyes, aren't his gorgeous?

Lucas is everybody's friend!  The sweet lovable lap cat that he is also gets along with children, other cats, and even dogs.

This is Rose!  Rose is one of his litter mates.  She is a little shy, but just as sweet as her brother.   We would like to adopt them together since they are such good buddies.  The best part about adopting them both is that they can keep each other entertained.  Lucas has shown us his how busy he can be and a playmate is just what he needs to wear off some of that energy.

Both kitties have been to the vet and have had all of the necessary tests and shots and have been declared healthy!  Lucas has been neutered and Rose has been spayed.  Both of them have also been micro-chipped!  When they are adopted the new owner's contact information will be put on the chip.  Also the first year's registration will be paid by StreetCats as an extra bonus!

If you are interested in meeting Lucas and Rose, feel free to come by StreetCats at 6520 E. 60th St, in Tulsa, 10:30 - 5:00 Tuesday though Saturday, or call our message line, 918-298-0104 with any questions that you may have.  We would love to show you around and introduce you to both kitties and I’m sure that they would love to meet you, too!

Feline Friday - Brandi!

This is Brandi!  She is a brown tabby with medium length fur.  She is beautiful!
She is a petite little girl at about 2 1/2 yrs. old with gorgeous green eyes!

Being with so many cats has been a little over whelming for Brandi.  Although she is still fairly shy she is coming out and about a lot more often now.  She prefers not to be picked up, but does like to be petted.  She loves to run and play once she is comfortable with her surroundings.

Brandi is very healthy!  She has had all of the recommended tests and passed with flying colors!  She also has had all of her vaccinations and has been spade.   StreetCats has micro-chipped her and will register her with her new adopters' name and contact information and also pay for her first year's registration fee.

If you are interested in meeting Brandi, feel free to come by StreetCats at 6520 E. 60th St, in Tulsa, 10:30 - 5:00 Tuesday though Saturday, or call our message line, 918-298-0104 with any questions that you may have.  We would love to show you around and introduce you to Brandi and I’m sure that she would love to meet you, too!

Really?!

Okay, okay, I know it's been a while since you've heard from me.  There's a reason for that, and I'll get to that in a minute.  But before I complain . . . I mean talk . . . about that let me tell you that much has happened at StreetCats in the last few weeks.  For example, the gorgeous Cassie featured in the last Feline Friday post is gone!  Yep, gone to her forever home, just in time for Christmas!  Cats are coming and going so fast I barely meet them and poof, they're gone!  You'd almost think there was a court magician involved!  And I had been considering making Cassie my queen!  It's no wonder I have no court in my kingdom right now!  No one stays long enough to even be considered, much less appointed!

But I digress!  I was going to complain . . . I mean talk . . . about why you haven't heard from me in so long.  Now cats don't hibernate, but we do sleep a lot.  And while recovering from Christmas, we sleep a whole lot!  You get that, right?!  That after Christmas recovery period?  Some of us spend that time putting up our Christmas decorations and getting the house weatherized for the hard winter.  But others of us need several weeks to just sleep.  I mean really, how many of you still haven't put up your Christmas decorations yet?  Come on, raise your hands, it's nothing to be ashamed of!  I'm right there with you!

So this sets the stage for what's happening now.  Picture me sleeping peacefully on my throne or in my hidey hole, pretty much ignoring the daily activities at StreetCats (except eating time) when, wham!  It begins!  They are hauling things in and out of here like crazy, wonderful things that people have donated!  They are having meetings, putting labels on gift bags, making phone calls and talking about food, food, food!  "They" being the humans who like to hang out here.  Now this would be irritating at any time of the year!  But while I'm recovering from Christmases???  Couldn't they at least find a better time for this chaos?!  I mean why not My Furry Leprechaun?  Or My Furry Fire Cracker?!

Yes, it is that time of year again.  We're having My Furry Valentine!  Now this is not my first rodeo, so I wasn't surprised.  But this year our primary fundraiser even actually occurs on Valentine's Day!  Whoopee!  (That's sarcasm, by the way.)  Look what they made me do!
They made me do this and then didn't even put my picture on the invitation!  Something about the expression on my face.  What??!!  This is just what I look like.  Maybe I need to cut off someone's head!

Okay, I have to admit, it's a very nice event . . . a silent auction and appetizer and dessert tasting.  Cats don't like to go to such events, but I've seen pictures of the humans just having a ball there!  And I don't want YOU to miss it!  So here is the invitation again.  If you didn't get one in the mail, consider this your personal invite!  We want to see YOU there!  Bet you'll have fun!

Feline Friday -Truman!

Here is Truman!  As you can see, he is a gorgeous long hair kitty with black and white fur.  Born in 2005, he is one of our more mature cats.

Truman is a guy that really knows what he wants and for several months now he has wanted to be the office cat.  He keeps track of everything happening in the shop.  His favorite place to sleep is in a bed tucked in between the paper cutter and the printer.

Truman was previously in foster care, as are most all of our cats.  While there he got along with their dogs and other cats.  He also gets along with cats in our shop. He can be a little testy at times so we think he would probably do best in a home without small children.  The foster parent said that he was friendly and affectionate and liked to sleep on the bed.  Here at StreetCats he seems to be laid back and calm.

Here Truman has ventured out of the office to see what was going on in the visiting area.  It's all work and no play when you're in charge of a host of volunteers and sometimes up to 14 other cats.

He has been to the vet and has had all of the tests and shots that he needed.  He also has had a micro-chip placed just below his skin.  The new owners' contact information will be put on it.  If he is lost, and then found, any vet or animal rescue organization can scan it and find out who he belongs to and where he lives!

Truman is really getting into the Christmas spirit with his own catnip filled stocking.  While I was at the shop he told me that he had a talk with Santa Paws, (I think he meant Santa Claws, or was it Santa Clause).  He told him that he had only 1 thing on his list this year.  He asked Santa to bring to the shop a human who would take him to his very own forever home.  We love him here at SteetCats, but we know that he would be most happy in a home of his own.

If you are interested in meeting Truman, feel free to come by StreetCats at 6520 E. 60th St, in Tulsa, 10:30 - 5:00 Tuesday though Saturday, or call our message line, 918-298-0104 with any questions that you may have.  We would love to show you around and introduce you to him and I’m sure that he would love to meet you, too!
