The King Is Adopted! Long Live the King!!!

I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!!  This is one of life's most important lessons.  You just have to be willing to turn, turn with life's ebb and flow and eventually things will turn round right!  Now I will admit that I was from time to time a little impatient.  When King Truman appointed me the Sheriff of StreetCats I can't say that it never crossed my mind to use my position to usurp his throne. An overthrow did sometimes seem like what I should accomplish.  After all, I have known for a long time what my rightful place should be.  But usurping sort of implies illegal.  So no, I just waited patiently and, sure enough, I have come to the place just right!

Sorry, I bet some of you aren't getting this.  Well, just to give you a little background, the pretender, King Truman, was adopted.  Yippee, yippee, yippee!  Aren't we happy for him!!  He is now living with a very nice man who is willing to put up with his uppity attitude and perhaps even treat him as if what he claimed was true, that he is some kind or other of royalty.

Okay, now on to the good stuff!  I, Adam, have now ascended to what was surely known to everyone who knows me as my rightful station in life!  I am now King Adam of StreetCats!!  Did I have to use any force to attain my rightful place?  Of course not!!  Just as soon as Truman left I walked proudly to the throne and all cats parted to clear my path.  And they bowed.  The humans may take a little convincing, but they will soon see the inevitability of all that has occurred.

So . . . drumroll here, please . . . I now introduce you to me, King Adam of StreetCats!  It is easy to see, don't you think, the rightness of my being here!  Of course it is!  Here I am!!  So handsome and kingly!
Now there is one more thing that you should know.  I have no intention of ever being adopted!  When you have come round right it is a good idea to just stay put!  This is all I've ever dreamed of and I don't intend to give it up!  The only way I would ever leave here is to become King of all the cats in Tulsa.  Hmmm.  Maybe there is still turning to be done!

Smile!

There are two kinds of times here at StreetCats.  There are times when our people are here and times when they're not.  Now we're not going to talk about the times when they aren't here, because those are private times.  Occasionally we leave evidence of what we've been doing when the people aren't here.  And they guess.  But nobody, really, knows for sure.  And no cat is going to tell!!

But during the times when they are here . . . well, they have the strangest machines.  There is one that fills with water and sloshes our beds all around.  Then there is another machine where they put our wet beds and it throws them around some more.  And it's hot!  There is a machine that they turn on and it spits out papers!  There is this one, where I write the blog, that they just sort of sit and stare at!!  And one that spits steam!  But for sure the strangest machine of all is one that our volunteer, Vickie Sanborn, holds up to her face!  And then she does some really strange things!

She gets on the floor!  She climbs on chairs!  She follows us around mercilessly!  Now some of the kitties are afraid of this machine!  After all it does shoot us!  Others think it's fun to play with it!  Most of us just tolerate the strange lady with the machine.  Since she likes us, we'll be nice.  I'll show you a picture of this thing that Vickie puts on her face.

Now in that shot Vickie was working with Lovie Dovie.  Lovie likes Vickie and the camera!  But picture taking needs to be on her terms.  And sometimes she wants to help!
But Vickie is persistent and she WILL eventually get her shot!!?
Impressive, huh?!  And did you see how big that camera machine is???  Good grief!  How does she hold it up?!  Okay, here is one more example of how she works and the results of her work.  Wow!
So now we're just going to tell Vickie how much we appreciate her pictures, the crazy ways she gets them and her machine.  She takes them because she loves us and wants us to have forever homes!  Pretty special, huh?!  Three cheers for Vickie!!!
